Jesus gives us a picture of what relationships that are governed by the principles and values of the kingdom of God should look like. Jesus talks about two subjects that might seem unrelated: divorce and swearing oaths, but there is a common thread that connects them to each other and that is that both of these issues had been high jacked by a religious system that loved to play word games and head games with the commandments of God in order to arrive at the conclusion they wanted.
