Life Together

The last several posts have been about the renovation progress on our new building. Well, that work is almost done (at least on the inside). And that means now the work really begins! The work that God has given us to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to our community. The work of seeing lives rebuilt, families rebuilt, marriages rebuilt, and hope rebuilt through the love of God.

When Jesus said, "I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it" (Matt. 16:18), he wasn't talking about hanging drywall or laying carpet or painting walls. He was talking about building a people together into the community of God through his atoning work on the cross, and by the great and precious promises of God found in the Bible. Every Christian is called to join Jesus in this great work of building the church and for Grace Community Church, I believe we are entering an exciting new chapter of that great work!

There are so many around us who don't know the Savior. So many who are living without the Author of Life. So many who are shackled by sin and the devil and are powerless to do anything about it. But we know the One who has broken those chains and who sets all who believe in him free by the power of God! May God give us boldness to speak up and tell people about Jesus. May God give us a new sense of courage to share our testimonies with our families, co-workers, friends, and neighbors. may God give us fresh power to be his witnesses in the world and in this community.

So, now that the work is almost finished...let the real work begin!
