Discussion: Educating Our Children During the Pandemic
August 31, 2020
7:00pm – 8:30pm
Location: 580 West Water Street, Painted Post, NY 14870Category: Church Event
It’s almost time for school to start! Those words may be striking dread into your heart . . . . What will your year look like? Hybrid online + in-person classes? A first foray into true homeschooling? Enrollment in a private school that has room to spread pupils out? Something different for each of your children? It’s safe to say that no matter what your choices, this year is going to require creativity, flexibility, perseverance, and a lot of prayer.
Here are some of the questions we will discuss:
- What are your biggest worries about this coming year? What are your needs?
- What keys to success did you uncover this past spring that you can share with others?
- What would help you approach this year with greater confidence?
- How can we support each other as parents, educators and concerned friends?
Experienced teachers and homeschooling parents will be on hand to help answer questions and suggest effective tactics. We’ll spend time in prayer as well, asking God to lead us into deeper community and love for each other. And there will be some time afterwards to network and expand our discussions about how we can help each other.
This meeting is open not only to those who are part of Grace, but also to any friends or neighbors you know who might like to attend, whether or not they are followers of Jesus.
Please RSVP to email@example.com so that we are sure to have enough space for everyone. There will be no childcare, but children who can entertain themselves fairly quietly are welcome to come along!
We’re hoping this can be a very encouraging and catalyzing discussion!
